Food for thought.
-both MEC and LEC are under NDA.
-they changed things to mitigate furlough but specifically changed only what did not require a membership ratification.
-so we are not furloughing(yet) but the word displacement was not used in the com.
what scenario requires change but basically a total informational blackout?

Based on this MEC and alpa doing this for the entire pilot group, I am more than happy to have hope that they did what was in the best interest of the pilot group as a whole. The MEC and all of alpa have been full on about the contract and about keeping it. If it’s a matter of capping open time? Or maybe putting RSV to 70 hours with an extra day off? I’m sure there are a million reasons why they want to keep this hush hush. The company and alpa have made it clear that these notes are leaked almost immediately to the press, maybe this is more of a tactic against the other airlines versus screwing the pilot group.
Im not going to be pessimistic about yesterday’s email. For those who cannot live on 70 hours at their current rate, that sucks and if you can’t live further below that for 6-12 months while the world slowly comes to an end, that sucks even more. I view this email that alpa sent as good news, what ever the details are, I am sure are much better than 850$ (Or whatever it is where you’re based) a week for unemployment, no 401k contributions, and having to pay for cobra. Could be worse mate, could have told half of us to pound sand and take our $250 voucher to AVIS with us.

Like 6 people total know the answer to that question. Does it really matter if you got displaced? Still better than unemployment. I don’t know much but since about May I’ve been pretty sure I wasn’t going to hold my seat anymore. Nor would I likely be able to hold my base. I’m middle of the ground in this seniority list and have been expecting a downgrade 10/1.

(Undoubtedly, some of you will have to Google Yosemite Sam, which predates Google. And smartphones. Undoubtedly, some of you will have to Google "life before smartphones", which I assure you, did exist. Caution, if you do Google "life before smartphones", you will likely see pictures of dudes with Motorola Razor flip-phones clipped to their belt. Undoubtedly, some of you will have to Google "flip-phones".)

Put your guns back in your holster Yosemite Sam, I don't think he disagrees with you.

Seriously, Elmer Fudd. Internets tone deaf. My words were not fighting words. Go back to hunting wabbits.
