We are talking about CSAs in low frequency stations like BTV who will have to move to another state regardless, would you rather them NOT have the ability to transfer and just fire them all?

I know of one crew scheduler that commutes as well. Keeps a Crashpad in Kew.

What a waste of time for them. I don't even think its worth it to commute as a FA. Can't imagine commuting to daily shifts as a CSA.

When the pilots were covered by the PEA we also had a 'no furlough policy'. Lots and lots of pilots were like "WOW, that is great"!!!! What this really meant was that every five years when your PEA renewed it could be non-renewed. If a downsizing needed to occur then a simple sorting of an excel spread sheet based upon dates of renewal and "non-furlough" those whose contracts that were in the renewal period. See, no one was "furloughed".

No furlough was really non-renewal. Some like to reinvent language. Some like to play along in blissful ignorance. No furlough policy is really a forced job abandonment policy for all non-contract employees and for the pilots when we were covered by the PEA a non-renewal policy was is literally a no furlough policy! But some pilots were happy to go around singing that they could never be furloughed.

You are correct, you would not be furloughed!

Same “lifestyle” as commuter pilots that do day trips. Without the cash of course. Crashpad every night. Not my thing because I’d rather be in a hotel than a communal dorm. Yeah I get it... days off, etc. etc. Still, I don’t want to drag to and fro the airport everyday. Different strokes, different folks.

Soooooooooo basically the same thing that’s about to happen to pilots on 8/2? Getting displaced. Having to commute to a crash pad with my mates at the Kew? If you don’t want to commute you just resign? Instead of getting furloughed.

If you want to commute to work doubles at the gate I’m pretty sure you can have at it all day long. Just like the mx dude from buf who goes to JFK. As long as you get to your battle station by 4:30 am.

Not the same at all. A CSA is XYZ does not have systemwide seniority. For instance, LGB has been in operating longer than LAX. LGB CSAs have longer longevity than LAX. They will not displace LAX as LGB has been drawn down and the LGB CSA were not furloughed. See we have a no furlough policy!
