But, but we have a contract now....not only stupid to do RSA at this point, but this same sh!t was happening during the labor dispute, nothing is going change. I talked to a guy at the picket and saw his name on RSA the very next day.

Personally I have no problem with RSA/VDA now that we’re out of the labor dispute. But I’m also not a socialist.

Doing VDAs or RSAs during a contract dispute is different than doing them now. Also, as a senior guy, I'd never do a RSA, but if you're junior, and you'll never see a VDA because of your seniority, and you live in base, I see no reason why they wouldn't do one to get 1.5x pay for a trip. Do a couple of those a month and you can drop straight pay trips to get more time off, or just add on for more $.
And if you think JB is the only airline that pilots pick up trips (green slips, etc) for more than straight pay you're either naive or disingenuous.

You must be senior if you’re calling RSA’s stupid. If you’re the bottom guy, they usually don’t need to call you for a VDA. What is someone in that position supposed to do if they want to make extra money? Besides just a straight pickup. Like you said, we have a contract now.

Yeah that wasn’t my point at all, but okay. Somehow doing a VDA is more honorable and less frowned upon than a RSA. Happy you can get by on 70 hours. Keep in mind that others might not be as fortunate due to particular circumstances or maybe took a pay cut to come here.
