I think it’s because the 190 is more of a conventional airplane vs the Airbus. I’m not typed on the A320, but you have to learn the different laws and all the different quirks makes it a little more challenging. I wouldn’t make a decision based on training difficulty though.
I think I may end up making a decision based on the fume issues with the 320. I don’t really like the idea of risking my health.

I don’t think that’s a very smart decision, but you’re free to do what you want.

What if they don’t offer the 190 for your class? You also know being on the 190 doesn’t immune you from deadheading around on the Airbus making 25% less right? I also haven’t see anyone on the seniority list switch to the 190 unless for an upgrade event. Maybe it’s coming, but I highly doubt it.

190 training is a whole lot easier imo.

Then I would go to the 320.

Have you read the fumes thread? How is not a smart decision to try to minimize a health risk?

Because the risk doesn’t outweigh the loss in pay, better/easier trips etc...

If it does for you then by all means go to the 190, that’s your choice. Im staying on the 190 for other reasons. I’m just telling you that you’d be in the minority choosing the 190 because of Airbus fumes. The fact that all the Airbus slots goes to the oldest/senior new-hire pilots and the 190 mass exodus on the quarterly system bid would show that.

Well, new hires and dudes leaving the E180 don't fully understand the Airbus issues do they? Most of the Airbus guys don't understand the Airbus issues because they don't understand the implications. They just think it smells funny sometimes...

So what about the minority Airbus drivers like yourself I assume, who fully understand the health implications? Literally zero are switching to the 190 unless for an upgrade or maybe some major QOL issues. The fumes are a risk, but all it takes is a right click of a mouse quarterly on Flica and risk averted....wonder why.

You were right to point out that even those that understand the problem usually stay for the better pay and easier workload. You were largely wrong to point towards new hires and dudes leaving the E180 as evidence, because they don't know what they don't know.

To be honest, I am very much looking forward to the A220 and A321NEOs so that I have viable options to escape the gas-chamber.

But I was serious previously when I said I am heavily triggered towards my O2 mask.

If you are on the NEO, you may still have to fly the 320. They are a common type right?

I agree about the 220, it is very exciting. First delivery is August of 2020 I heard? It is probably going to be very senior.

When does the seat lock for a new hire start?

Also, I heard E-190 training was easier then Airbus training. Is this true?
Airbus training with JB was the easiest aviation course I have ever undergone. The 190 guys in my class reported the same experience. The average bar tab among us would confirm this informal claim.
