Highest paid 190 pilots in the world “thrown under the bus”.

I don’t think anyone expected to make a lot more on the 190. The 6.8 percent raise was more than adequate... but the loss of PTOSB equates to at least. 15000 dollar a year pay cut

Work rules hardly change any of the trips on the 190. So this contract does nothing for 1/4 of the group. I don’t care about being highest paid 190 when the pay is terrible. It’s why everyone is going to bid off of it. Any bets on how junior left seat 190 is next bid?

There aren’t that many people on it relative to the bus overall. I would hardly characterize it as “droves.”

More like “pouring a cup of 190 pilots into a barrel of Airbus ones.”

I can see with this recent fleet announcement, 190 guys heading over to the Airbus until the A220 comes along now knowing that in several years the 190 will be gone. Some might've been staying put on the 190 to avoid a long term training event. Now they don't have a choice.

You know, this is exactly how DAL negotiates. It's not about how many seats or profit is generated, it's "who is the highest paid, we must be below them or we cannot ask for more!".

Hows about we compare planes of similar size? How does our "high" 190 pay look then?

Answer: Like most other sections of this TA, sub standard...

Got it. So you want your artificially inflated seniority the 190 allows you and you also want it at airbus rates?

That’s great and all except that isn’t how the industry has negotiated. I don’t know why but it’s the way it is. So trying to justify it before a mediator just doesn’t work.

Got it, so no other airline is permitted to exceed the highest pay rate per airframe that exists in the industry? Or there is some limit to how much above another airlines top rate you can go?

Did the mediator tell us to remove SWA from the pay comparisons because they don't operate the A320?
