This communique is for entertainment purposes only. It does not implicitly or explicitly acknowledge employment with any air carrier nor is any relationship implied. This communique does not represent the opinions or policies of ALPA or JB ALPA and does not represent the collective pilot group, ALPA, nor does it imply collective bargaining, advocacy, or workforce actions intended to disrupt operations.
Are you hoping for another PEA?

Absolutely not! That's why I mentioned the PEA. It's a failure on many grounds including that it externally references another document that could be changed at any point.

My point in bringing all of this up is that we should ensure any contract proposal does not include external references or leave any condition unaddressed. As I have said before, the contract needs to include language that excludes us from mandatory compliance unless it has been specifically authorized by an 85% majority vote or greater. It must also allow for denial of any new policy without negative repercussion or passive aggressive retribution such as losing your commuter privileges.

In other words, unless it's specifically described in the contract, then it doesn't exist to us. That way, when they start requiring pass riders to clean the toilet, they will not have the authority to stealth modify our contract.

They will no longer be shorting the Buck Rogers in the cockpit 20% either.

Nonsense. Nothing low cost about us. It is part of a mind game.

The reason that I ask is because unless it's a legal classification, I would challenge their fictional nomenclature if it's used to negotiate pay or work rules.

BJ loves to make up words for stuff:
- Flight vs. inflight, pilots vs. FAs
- Mint vs 1st class

I don't want them ever saying they don't have first class and thus don't compare to Delta, AA, United.

Guys I support your pilot group fully in your struggle for market rate compensation. I made my insignificant point in response to a comment which posed the question “what is an LCC anyway?” in the context of ticket cost LCC vs legacy carrier. No big whoop. My comment contributed zero and this one is not much better, but just didn’t want to offend. Peace

Peace bud. I wasn't sure how you meant it, but my response was general in nature towards anyone that might actually believe there are "LCC" pilots...

No offense taken.

No problem with being offensive (you were not). We all need to learn to deal with being offended. Too many people love hiding in their safe spaces.

Facts don't care about your feelings.

You put the concept of LCC classification in at least one more person's head and we should be thankful for your contribution to the collective thought process.

Well, except that Robin got hammered on deteriorating culture and labor unrest, and lack of investment into labor. And his answer? More culture!
