I think what will have an effect is flying drones around NYC with "BJ-truth.com" or "Dont-fly-BJ.com" banner tow planes with similar outrageous (Trumpish) pet names. Until the substandard treatment and pay issue becomes a public tragedy, I don't see much of anything happening any quicker. I think all that really is needed is an informational campaign comparing us to industry average. It's pretty clear that BJ is taking advantage of the professional pilot group. Let social justice be your power.
You know, ALPA can get people to put laser signs on the side of buildings moving every 5 minutes with something far more interesting than "It's time" or other nebulous, neutered, safe sayings.

Have people walk around downtown NYC, particularly touristy areas, with just a website link on a blue T-Shirt.
A simple website could just have facts. It could be the counter to "B6Direct.com".
A persistent campaign of this tactic could be very effective.

I think it would start your "duty time", according to the FAA, if you began to update your iPad, update Jeppesen FD, or especially to read everything in Comply365. So, to be in compliance with FAA rest regulations, those activities should be conducted while on duty, not before.
Remember what 14 CFR 91 says
" ァ 91.103 Preflight action.
Each pilot in command shall, before beginning a flight, become familiar with all available information concerning that flight. This information must include -
(a) For a flight under IFR or a flight not in the vicinity of an airport, weather reports and forecasts, fuel requirements, alternatives available if the planned flight cannot be completed, and any known traffic delays of which the pilot in command has been advised by ATC;
(b) For any flight, runway lengths at airports of intended use, and the following takeoff and landing distance information:
(1) For civil aircraft for which an approved Airplane or Rotorcraft Flight Manual containing takeoff and landing distance data is required, the takeoff and landing distance data contained therein; and
(2) For civil aircraft other than those specified in paragraph (b)(1) of this section, other reliable information appropriate to the aircraft, relating to aircraft performance under expected values of airport elevation and runway slope, aircraft gross weight, and wind and temperature."
Don't forget to read NOTAMs. The PIC is responsible for everything in the logbook, including MX errors, so be precise.
Anyone who interferes with your lawful adherence to the CFR can answer to the FAA Hotline:

Being imprecise only puts your certificate on the line. Your employer will always survive, your certificate will not.

Saw our fearless leader Robin in BOS at our gate yesterday. He said hello and introduced himself to all the Inflight, Gate agents, GOC. Not even an acknowledgement to the captain and I. Just walked on the bridge and nothing.
I知 know fully aware where we stand as pilots. I was so inspired I picked up an RSA & VDA

For anybody considering making the jump to SWA, I just got my first paycheck in training and from 2 nd year pay at JB, my pay cut was a whopping...wait for it....$12.00 from my March 8 JB Check.
Full disclosure, I was doing 10% contribution to CSPP, so that makes up for half of the roughly 20% hourly cut. Add to that the 8% I no longer have to contribute to my 401k to max out the JB match, and the decrease in union dues from 1.9% to .25% (first year only, goes to 1% thereafter) and I知 breaking even (minus $12). Now add 14% direct contribution to my B fund, and a 0 premium Regular plan health insurance, a 3% raise coming Sept 1, all open time trips paid at 2nd year pay for the first year, and the fact that picking up open time is not taboo when the union isn稚 in a labor dispute, and I知 WAY ahead of where I was going to be on 3rd year pay.
I知 certainly not boasting, just providing the info to any junior guys who might be hesitant to go from JB to SWA, as was I. It痴 been great so far.
For those who are going to stick it out with JB, best of luck and more power to you!
