Everything is a cost in negotiations. If we are talking about things that increase our compensation, then it's wasting our time. IMHO

I disagree with IYHO.

And so does the UAL negotiating committee, who knows much more than you do.

A cost neutral proposition isn’t a cost. Maybe it is by jetblue math. But last I checked filling an empty mint seat with a DH (or any nonrev for that matter) costs the company zero dollars. Kind of like when AA puts me in first when I jumpseat to work (which they do, which is why I ride on them and not us, that and I don’t have to be a janitor for them)...It costs them nothing. Would I give up $1/hr in rates for this? Hell no. But they aren’t tied together. BJ would tie them together, but they do a lot of other illogical and contrarian things.

Well that should make life better but yeah sometimes you have to stay on AO. Had this happen with a captain taking a repo and he wanted to get me and some offline pilots on it. AO said no OPS said no Dispatch said no. He called the CP who told him where all the forms were that we could and bam they all said yes (because you can) Most Times they don’t know and won’t look it up so they say no. It shouldn’t be that way but it is.

I posted a question in this thread, and was quoted from another thread. Oh and blue juice or something along those line? I dunno, I think that's about it.

Oh and I'm a dick, so there's that!
I didn’t call you any names. I simply pointed out the absurdity of your comment.

Come on man this makes no sense at all. I’m sure others can think of some simple QOL examples that don’t increase our compensation that should absolutely be in a contract.

We already named the deadheading stuff.

How about check in via the jetcrew app? That’s ridiculous and has to go away.

How about the dependability policy? How there are days that trigger a review around holidays automatically but we don’t receive any special pay for those days. They can’t have it both ways.

How about hotel standards? Not compensation related yet still immensely important.

Should we ignore all these things?

I think that is where the mediators office is. They meet in NY, DC and AUS.

Sorry forgot a word.

Everything is a cost in negotiations. If we are NOT talking about things that increase our compensation, then it's wasting our time.

When we have a CBA I am voting on the pillars and a market rate. I am not voting NO just because I don't get MINT seating.
