Glass houses and all that... rumor is there was a gathering of company cheerleaders down in Orlando that day to serve up blue juice to prospective new hires. Did you tell them how it just #keepsgettingbetter?

It’s no rumor they were doing interviews.
You guys give hyper a ton of crap and sometimes he be over the top but he was prepared to resign his position to go to the picket vs the interview. He asked some union guys and they said to go down and do the interviews. Cut the guy some slack. He has been to every meeting and I think this is the first real thing he missed. I don’t see him saying he sacrificed by going to work. I don’t always agree with him but I have no doubt he would have been there.
I also know a few of you that he helped get on here, so while you bash the guy I’m sure you were nice while he was helping you.
Hyper is a good dude. He doesn’t always articulate his arguments well and can be a little juicy even for me but I know he would drop anything to help a fellow pilot. The same can not be said for some on here.

Now hyper make your PIN number the same as your employee number

That would be all well and good if he wasn't always making excuses for the company and trying to counter legitimate and factual criticism of JB for fear of prospective new hires learning what it's really like here.

I also know a couple people who lost all interest in JB after talking to him at a couple job fairs. Can't blame them.....I wouldn't want to come to work for a cult either. To be fair, I haven't met the guy but I've observed his behavior here and in the flesh.

To each their own.

So, I F'ed up with my reply. When I read the "sacrificed" comment to go to the picket my mind clung to the "time" aspect, and my tiny brain heard "time away from home", which wasn't what he said.

Stupid reply on my part.

I had intended to go, had an exit strategy for my trip, but it did not work out. That said, I would do something different if I had it to do over again, which I FULLY expect I will. I'm also quite certain that the next picket I make it to at least one of you guys will be stuck at work, as more than half of us are at work on any given day.

Having said that, the world is not black and white and my being at work that day will never mean I don't support our pilots and want the best for our pilot group.

You have lost all credibility. It’s a shame too because much of your message was correct. Your delivery is just terrible. And your actions don’t back up your big words on this message board. You call out guys on here who make actual sacrifices. You can’t step up to the plate when given the opportunity.
1st paragraph I agree with, it was a stupid reply, I did not sacrifice as many of you did.

2nd paragraph, I will agree my delivery can be terrible and appreciate that you find most of my message to be correct.

I do not agree that the only way to support our pilot group with credibility is to attend a single event even if working at the time of the event. And the MEC has also never said that. Having said that, I wanted to be there, I thought I was going to be able to get out of my trip, my plan didn't work.

Having said that, I would use a different strategy next time.

Apologies for the epic stupid reply. Thanks to those that did sacrifice to be there. See you at the next most likely.

We all have a part to play but sometimes when the chips are down the loudest talkers have left the room.
Yeah Joe, and you guys weren't telling me how wrong I was for the last two years? Had you guys actually been right, and we had a deal done by summer 2017 or surely by end of year 2017, you would have all been telling me how wrong I was (again) and how right you were...

I don't believe for a second that you guys wouldn't have called me out for being wrong had this gone the way you guys thought. But it didn't, so you guys just focus on how meany meany I am.

I think I was pretty clear that those that couldn’t make the picket didn’t lose any credibility. Just those that come on message boards and talk a big talk, while calling out fellow pilots, but then don’t back it up with actions. Obviously 3500 guys can’t all have the day off. Though that day may come.

I don't "big talk". I make sure people know how truly far behind our peers we are. And I push back hard against those that put JB in a positive light.

Beyond that, I do NOT care if some guys who already don't like me say I've lost "credibility" with them. The same guys who told me I was "just being negative" and "contract will be done by summer 2017" or "contract will be done by end of 2017" or " just give them more time, it's almost done" and "the company knows they have to pay market rate". You guys lost credibility with me a LONG time ago.

The only real reason I responded to your comments tonight is because *I* had said something really stupid, and I wanted to say so.

Beyond that, take your "credibility" and shove it up your blue panties.

Credit where credit is due. FWIW, I almost didn’t make it either for various reasons. It’s understood that it’s just not possible to attend all these things.

On aside, as I type with a nice scotch hum going it occurred to me that the next time I picket I might do so while being ever so slightly on the sauce. I mean, gotta take a day off, marching around in the damn cold, might as well…we ain’t operating, right? Someone please tell me this is a bad idea and thanks in advance…
