As a relatively new B6 pilot and LGB FO, I hadn’t seen much of the negative things until my last trip... I wear my lanyard, I don’t pick up anything, and I generally support the MEC. Anyway, FLL CA rolls in wearing a JB NYC (non ALPA) lanyard. He proceeds to do a standup PA and questions (twice) my reluctance to do one. When I questioned him as to why he doesn’t wear a lanyard, he says that he doesn’t want to **** off the “golden goose.” Post flight, I get reprimanded for not going back and gloving up... Honestly, I’m okay with the varying perspectives, but when I get talked down to for not digging through seat backs I’m going to say something. See you all in NYC on the 31st.
Unity...
On a side note, my next CA (BOS) was awesome. He’s not leaving, but he’s not voting for a sHIiT contract or caving to the Man. Mad props to that dude. It takes so little to wear a lanyard. Fly SOP, and support the MEC.
Oh yeah, additionally, i’ve never seen an LGB CA do a stand up PA. It may be an east coast airline, but the west coast holds the line pretty well from my limited perspective.

Or you just don't do it ever. Really simple. Not sure why we are still talking about it. Never have done it in any commute home never will.

I’m sure Mint is nice... but I’m not sure it’s THAT nice.

The cleaning thing is what really gets to me though, mostly this line right here
"Buddy Pass Riders & family members should clean their row and deplane."
Guess what I don't tell people who use my buddy passes? That they need to clean the airplane. Why? Because that's embarrassing. I'm not making my wife clean our airplane while we fly, and I'm not telling my friends that use my buddy passes to clean up either. I'll cross belts and pickup my own trash if I'm non-revving, but I'm not making my family/friends do it.
Every airliner I've ever been on is a disgusting melting pot of nasty, sticky grossness. I will never stick my hand into the back of a seat pocket. I've gotten sick so many times and had to call out while working for the airlines, the last thing I'm going to do is go clean after the general public. I used to clean lavs and cabins while in the corporate world, and it wasn't that bad and I hardly ever got sick. Cleaning an airliner? No thanks.

Yet another example why there needs to be significant changes on the BOD and upper management. Jetblue announces BOS-MSP service starting in May, four months after Minneapolis is hosting the Super Bowl with the Patriots in the game. It's scary how behind the eight-ball they find themselves constantly. Another win for Delta it looks like.

If you apply yourself; clean the cabin, leave on-time, stand-up pa's, and/or pick up opentime, you'll be entered into a raffle to go to a hotel next to the Superbowl...or PAP ( reference from my earlier post)
