I’m not really sure how much of this conversation is you guys enjoying each others’ company and how much is actual debate.
But JetBlue is no worse (or better) than any other airline out there, nor for that matter any publicly traded company out there. Simply put, every dollar that goes to a pilot is diverted from its path to a shareholder’s pocket. And those shareholders want it.
Delta pays what they pay not because the management loves the pilots. It’s because the pilots will make the company and the shareholders pay if they get less than they think they should. The difference between us and them is: they’ve been at it longer, have more iterations of the negotiating process under their belts and are no longer trying to imagine a company that loves them sooooo much that they are dying to give them a raise. They TOOK that money. We’ll get there, but it’ll take a few rounds of this and some time. Oh, and balls.

Okay. So I tried to take this discussion private because, seriously, no one gives a flying fook.
Here is what I said in the private message. Verbatim. "You choose to take the most literal, least generous interpretation of everything anyone says." Which, you know, isn't quite the same thing as what you just said above. It's similar. I mean, the word "literal" is in there.
When you're engaged in a philosophical discussion with someone, one way of arguing that is a type of logical fallacy and is a breakdown of the discussion is when you take the most literal interpretation of someone's words, give them the least generous interpretation, and then beat them over the head with that absurd interpretation. This is a form of the "straw man" fallacy.
So, I said what I said, which you've quoted several times so I will spare everyone the pleasure. From that you took this, which is very clearly NOT what I intended or meant:
You think *you* are the unbiased arbiter of reality, no known or unknown internal biases what-so-ever?
That's just insane, and you have now lost what little credibility you had.

So yeah, your reading comprehension sucks, you're intellectually dishonest, and engage in logical fallacies to "win" arguments. Bravo.
Screw beer, I need a whiskey.

You both come off in support of "your side" as arrogant pricks sometimes... but you know I know I do too.
That said he does have good points of order as do you, ATR, Pain, bozo, cloud, and the rest of us. ...Even whitehammer, My bittch FO.
In summation having thoroughly and most likely offended everyone involved, this is like a salad dressing. oil and vinegar. never gonna mix. but in the end we all want the same salad. Eternal optimism and Eternal pessimism are hard to blend.
terrible analogy i know. but really, I haven't even had a beer today!

I thought major airlines were going away from the black/female/gay job fairs and moving to in house job fairs. Why would anyone go to those special interest ones anymore? I went to the the gay one once. So demeaning to pay money to go stand in line for 6 hours to suck up to a recruiter for 10 mins, especially at a job fair for a special interest group I don’t belong to that has a better shot because of something they were born with (skin color, gender, sexual orientation). I keep wondering where my straight white male privilege is but can’t find it. I digress...I don’t know if jetblue will go to the women’s job fair.
