There seems to be confusion on what "privatization" means as it is currently being proposed. As a not-for-profit, with user fees (mainly paid by airlines) ATC will have an actual steady stream of income to plan for system upgrades. They currently operate under the whim of Congress and their funding which isn't consistent from year to year.
The implementation of next-gen has taken much to longer than it should have under the current system. Aircraft are required to have ADS-B but not all ATC facilities have the equipment for it. That allows for tighter separation which provides greater capacity.
Implementation of Data Comm is another example. Slow to be implemented that allows greater capacity.

Also, CPDLC in Oceanic is awesome. As far as picking up the clearance at a domestic airport, I could care less. PDC is almost easier.

Or just wear the bomber jacket, or north Face since they hate the bomber jacket. Is it your responsibility to make sure the highly trained professionals we work with do their job properly?

Decreasing separation will result in what? More planes to arrive at 13L in JFK? At 22 in Laguardia? As has been pointed out, this is a runway issue. Can't put 2 airplanes on the runway at the same time. And there's Wake turbulence. We're 'closely separated ' enough already.

Secondly, there needs to be a carve out for GA. Planes smaller than XXXlbs shouldn't pay fees, or we will see the end of GA in this country.

First off, privatization only helps if there is constant competition. Otherwise you end up with a state sanctioned monopoly. I would argue you would get a worse product.

Found this data interesting and supports what I've been saying to folks about LGB and how we should dump it/cut back/or move operations to another CA airport and how we keep flying half empty Airbus planes up/down the coast when ww could be entering or expanding into other markets

I do think the company will keep doing it until we either merge with AS in 3-5yrs, or somehow get a bunch of gates in LAX or SFO. If we walk away from LGB now then SWA will waltz in and dump 40 flights/day up and down the west coast which will further lock us out of anything significant there.
