Let's assume he wrote to the uniform committee, who is there to deal with exactly this. He deserves an email or a call. Let's say he talked to one of his reps, who should have called the uniform guys to call him. Even if it was "there is nothing we can do" they owe him a call or an email.

Yes alpa is busy but that is why there are different committees and many people on each one. It is bad enough that the company sucks at communicating we don't need that in the union as well.(if that is the case)
I agree completely with both pilotpayne and hornetdriver. I've had many questions I've asked ALPA that went unanswered. Really leaves a bad taste when you get ignored. As far as the shirts go, we all know they suck, so why are you giving this guy such a hard time? If he can fix a problem we all have, more power to him. I'm calling that shirt company tomorrow with my vote. At least maybe something will get done around here.

I agree with you and Payne. I'm giving him crap because he said that that is typical of them. In my experience it's the exact opposite.

But out of curiosity what type of questions have you asked and not received a response? Who did you ask? What email address did you use?

Uniform Committee

Have any of you tried contacting them through the above page? If so and you got no response fill out a PDR. That'll get their attention. You should've gotten a response if you went through the right channel. Or you should've been told who to contact if you went through the wrong one. A PDR will get more visibility if it comes to that.

Exactly. Look the union works for us. I have volunteered and these guys volunteer. They know what they are getting into. You get to ask questions (hopefully you take the time to research things before asking) and you deserve an answer. While the negotiating guys are busy and your local reps are very busy and other committees are busy I have a feeling the uniform guys don't have much to do. I agree with RVR if you can't get an answer file a PDR and see where it goes. If guys for some reason don't want to take the time to get back to you they need to no longer be on a committee.

With all of that said. I have always had fast responses to my questions up in Boston and when I did work on a committee, everyone involved was there for the pilots. It was impressive to see their dedication.

Re uniforms, when I started here early last year I emailed a cut above and asked if they made blue shirts because I didn't like our old or new ones. They responded and said they already make blue shirts for a company and were contemplating adding it to their website to sell individually, but that they would love to get the contact info for JetBlue uniform people if there was an interest from us and try to become our provider. So I asked the uniform people what they thought, and the lady I talked to said I was one of many recently who had asked, and she was frustrated because everyone begged for the van Heusen shirts, they got it, then everyone wanted to switch again to ACA. I got some contact info to pass along but ended up not following up as I found a VH size that fits alright without being tailored and was satisfied enough to not continue trying to press the issue.

To hornetdriver, what have you done to solve the issue besides email the union and rant on APC against the union? Have you talked to a cut above and/or the JetBlue uniform people? Perhaps you can effect change doing stuff on your own, or volunteer yourself for the uniform committee. If you like to fix problems when you see them, that could be a good opportunity for you.

If you read back a little, he says they got the go ahead from ACA, so I'm guessing they've been talked to. Same with the uniform committee. Looks like the fix is in the works to me. But they're going to need our support, so let's stop talking about it and do it.

We'll take care of this ourselves...you can thank us later. I'll take your response off the air.

P.S. Learn to spell

apologies for going off th handle to hornet.

I took offense to the "typical ALPA" comment. As we are ALPA.
If you see something that. Needs to be fixed and it's not getting done you should volunteer your time and fix it. However. He should have gotten a response about his concerns.

I hate the shirts... all of them. They've not been able to get it right and have been "improving" them for the nearly ten years I've been here. I guess my give a $#it for the shirts is effectively done.

But Yes men? Hardly, Come on man...
I hope auto correct got everything so this comes out right.

To that end Don't drink and post.
