We are around the same seniority.
So when you got hired you were around what 2000-2200. So for you to reach 50% you benefitted from some attrition from AA and delta furlough returns but you also only needed the company to grow to 3200 pilots of today.
Someone hired today is 3200 and will likely need the company to grow to over 5700 to reach 50%.
Way different between growing 1200 pilots and growing 2500 pilots. How long do you think that's gonna take?

Lol! Jb maffs!
I totally understand your argument here but the math is fuzzy. I'm somewhere between 1819-1832 if you look between the latest sys bid, FLICA, and crewtrac.
I'm 54.9% and I know we need +/-3640 pilots to make me 50%. I though we'd be there this year, but it's not gonna happen.
Guys hired today will have a very different experience than guys hired 2-3years ago, just like we had a very different experience hired in 08' than the guys in 05-06'.

This whole line of conversation is a little far fetched. If someone is out there weighing multiple offers from legacy carriers and JetBlue and they choose JetBlue, it's not going to be because of their anticipated upgrade time.
Most people come to B6 because a) they called them, or b) they live in base. Business philosophy or good corporate culture is a "nice-to-have" at this stage of the game.

Look under the new system bid in Flica. At the top of the submit bids tab is your overall seniority number. According to that there are 3251 pilots.

They hired like 6 pilots between 08-'10. We are very close in seniority. My point is, when I was hired, people said I should go to southwest because I had no potential here and I'd never see the left seat. That was BS, not even close to my experience here. No doubt we have our issues but I'm glad I came here and I'm glad I stuck it out.

Just came from recurrent. . .I had heard the SJC rumor from three sources prior to going. . .I brought it up to the management rep at recurrent and he said that it was an extremely well-placed rumor, he had heard it as well at the Big 6 meeting, for what it's worth.
