Let's keep in mind that no slots were going to be instantly gained by opening LGB to international flights. While allowing the FIS to be built would have signaled a willingness to allow an expansion of LGB slots, I'm guessing it won't have much of a short term impact on West Coast growth.
Like Flyby said, a longer term solution is needed.
Going with the city council didn't work, but I'm guessing there are probably some other levers the company has to pull to help LGB grow.

Exactly this...
It was being lobbied for opportunity. Back to the drawing board. Maybe we'll focus on some real west coast expansion.

According to Robin on the investor call, we have no problem retaining and hiring pilots
Cost of CBA has already been "baked" into their numbers... ok, so contract now!!
No new focus city planned for West coast, and they will keep LGB around as focus city
Route cuts to Puerto Rico and Colombia are coming.
If growth in first half of year doesn't meet expections, slower growth planned for 2nd half of year...
Oh, and.... cost cutting! Cost cutting!

LGB will stay a base and a focus city for now and probably quite some time, now they might move to another airport after the customs facility letdown, but that is just speculation. We need a west coast base for our transcon market, especially with the increase in Mint service. There have been rumors of an additional west coast base in the bay area, but apparently there is nothing in the works.

Well after disappointment time and again, I will be applying else where. I was very happy and thought maybe there would be a future, however, I'm tired of tgis crap. Jetblue is about to lose a captain that has 30 years left

Here is some depressing info. I think it's Gona be a long, hard and draining completion of section 6.
