There's no rest period necessary. If he was reassigned while on the trip, even if it just goes a minute after originally scheduled pairing, that is an emergency assignment which pays 5 hours, or block whichever is greater, at JRA/EMA.
If it was just a delay into your day off then there is no extra pay.

Sorry I used the wrong term. Yeah 5 hours at 190% pay. Or block whichever is greater.

i appreciate your answers, guys. yes, we were not delayed, they changed the flight completely to a different flight and limo at the end. so it seems i don't get an extra day off, but i should get some extra pay. i will check rainmaker. i mean i'll tell my friend to check rainmaker. thanks for the information.
