10 bucks on United.
As much as I like the C why would you scrap all of the infrastructure around the 190 when they are coming out version 2 (that's if we keep the 190)

Although similar to the e190, the e190e2 has a bunch of new parts. New FBW, new motors, new avionics, new wings. My understanding is there is not that much parts commonality between the 190 and e2 fleets. EMB kept the dumb ram horns at customers request so they could keep a transition training program instead of requiring a new initial training program that would have been required with side sticks. So there's that. But, we'd need new infrastructure for the e2s as well. Maybe not as much as for c series, but it'd still be substantial. I just push buttons though. Im sure the smart bean counters will figure out the best solution.

More seats. Better range (over 3k miles for c series). Better short field performance. Overall more versatile. Same reason Air Canada is replacing their a319s and 190s with them (besides nationalism and supporting their hometown government subsidized company). I imagine the CS100 and e195e2 have similar economics.

Because the 190 was a disaster when we got it. Why would you ever invest in a company that put out a product like that the first time around? I hope we never receive another Embraer product at JetBlue. I've flown on both fleets and the Airbus is better in almost every way. And before we start another Airbus vs 190 argument I am a guy who stands to benefit from more 190's on property. If things continue the way they have been I'll be upgrading within a year back to the 190. I understand we can't replace it with 319's I just really hope it's not the e2.

Ed Bastian, Oscar Munoz, and Doug Parker are also business people who don't care about paying pilots anymore than they have to, but even they are on the same side as the union, for the sake not of protecting pilots/FAs/etc., but for the potential impact this will have on the US aviation industry. That said, they have their outsourced c scale labor already, which is drying up, while their new competition is just getting started down the cheap labor expressway.
They don't care about Pilots/FAs/ect., they are trying to protect their money. The big 3 have total control on international flights to/from America. Foreign companies offer a much better product at a much better price. Instead of competing, they whine and complain and try to make everyone feel that it's just to protect us. Which it's not, they don't want to make their service better, they don't want to lower their price. They want the government to protect their routes by not letting other carriers in the game that they accuse of their governments helping too much, sound like a hypocrite? Discount labor, the big 3 use discount labor for their domestic feed.
So only the big 3 can use discount labor to feed international routes where they have no competition?
If they get competion they say it's not fair because the Middle East governments help out the carriers, exactly what they are doing by petitioning the government to let them keep a monopoly. Or NAI uses cheap labor, umm... Envoy, Skywest, express jet....., who has cheap labor.

From my understanding the e2 isn't that much of an improvement over the current 190. The rollout was horrible with it so I don't see why any company would continue with it.
Interesting view on NAI. Do a little research on the shipping industry and see what it has done for US.
What's next relief for NAIon cabotage.
