Congrats on getting hired at United. Now that your seniority number is 14,000 I wish you well when Big Ted Announces a 10% nay just for fun 5% furlough. (CAUSE THEYVE NEVER DONE THAT BEFORE!!!). That's a lot of numbers from the bottom to be safe. Again, congrats and good luck.

Same with SWA. So keep your Kumbyeyah high and keep doing what BIg Blue wants.

If we were given a TA tomorrow with an 8% raise I'd vote for the 'Hell NO' option. This LOA isn't a TA. This is a stand alone, one time, not related to anything else, increase in base pay to cover the loss of profit sharing that will happen regardless of how the vote goes.

There's a huge difference. DAL had a choice in if they lost PS or not. WE DO NOT. They will take 5% PS away 8% raise or not.

Voting no on this does nothing but shoot ourselves in the foot. Take the money now... then take more later. To vote no is like saying hey thanks for taking my 5% and I don't want your other money cause I'm so mad at you!

I agree it's a wash, maybe a slight raise. It's definitely not an 8% raise, but to not take the raise is absurd. There is a big difference between an LOA and a TA. This is an LOA with a pay bump.

This is not a vote on a TA. Do you read the emails that the union sends out? We're losing 5% PS no matter what happens here. Are you saying that instead of the 8% (3%) we should take -5%? This pay increase, according to union emails, has 0 effect on negotiations. I'm not understanding your thinking...

Not really that cut and dry. If profit doubles next year, your 3% is actually a loss. Then again if profits tank, we have a nice insurance policy. Looks like they made a bet on profits increasing for next year.

That's true. However I was replying to someone who was stating that it's 8% pay raise which it's not.

If people keep saying it's an 8% pay raise, someone might start believing that fiction.

[Though if profits double I don't see how it'd be a loss (assuming we'd get into the 20% PS range)]

Boy some of you guys are really locked in on us having 15% profit sharing.

I considered it a one time gift.

These are the seven smartest guys in the class. JetBlue is actively seeking pilots with some type of blemish or incomplete resume that the majors won't hire. Those with solid backgrounds are leaving. This place is a joke and I wouldn't suggest anyone come work here. Next thing you know you'll have to do training on how to nonrev and the FA''s will write you up for not cleaning. Oh yeah, we have that now too.
