I know the 190 is on the way out, but will there be a net reduction of overall 190 positions/aircraft or will they just be redeployed to another base for now?

Those MCO190 positions are just gone…no real change from today in JFK/BOS 190. 12 E190s to be parked by end of year. 3 parked as of today. They will continue to get parked until they are all gone in summer 2025. I suspect more 190 positions will decrease as this happens.

Well over a few years all the 190 positions will be eliminated as they push the 190's into the Hudson River and Boston Harbor or sell them to Sam Adams to make beer cans.......

Eventually all the pilots on the airplane will be displaced. They have the opportunity to take a vacancy or displace someone in a position that does not have a vacancy as long as they are senior to the most junior pilot, such as the system bid we are doing now. Or, if they run a displacement only when they rid of one of the other bases, they can displace pilots wherever they want as long as they can hold it.

To add to what everyone else said, the company has created vacancies on MCO 320 almost equal to the amount being displaced from MCO 190 to help absorb most of the peeps. Of course, someone senior in JFK/BOS can snatch it too since it's a vacancy, if they so choose. So flights will be upgauged to 320 in MCO, leaving MCO with a similar base size.

There will be more 190 displacement bids in the future too for BOS and JFK as we fully park the 190s and more A220s come online.

Do they do displacements in your quarterly bids as well as the park more of them, or only the annual bid, or some one off displacement in between?

Just curious about your displacement protocols vs the NK debacle

We don't have quarterly bid (not anymore since our first CBA). Only annual bid (company can also have supplemental bids throughout the year as they choose). So they can have a annual and/or supplemental bid with displacements or vacancies or both. Displacement bids don't happen often (it cost them a lot of money since it triggers a lot of training events). But since the 190 is being retired, they have to run displacement bids at some point.

This first one is for MCO 190, the next 2 (whenever that happens) will be JFK 190 and BOS 190. The only good thing with those last 2 will be the fact that those are 2 junior bases/equipment. Although, we still do have senior peeps on that fleet, just not as much as MCO 190 and they will more likely want to stay in those bases and very little people from other bases will want to go to JFK or BOS. Whoever is senior in JFK 190 and BOS 190 more than likely wants to stay in that base (of course this is pre-NK bases, but it will probably all shuffle out before we even have a SLI)

Good info, displacements aside how often have they run periodic supplemental bids historically?

Since lately (the last 2 years). About once on average outside the annual bid. CBA is only 4 years old now so not too much historical data since the "supplemental bid" was born from the CBA.

NK monthly vacancy bid, 1-2 year equipment change lock, 6 month SQ lock sounds like the way forward!

We can throw it in the hat. We do have 2 year equipment lock already (1 year for newhires).
