No, you didn't. It does make sense. As always the devil is in the details.
Well it’s going to depend on the value of the trip you’re trying to PTO. Starting out let’s assume you can only hold 4 days. Well then you’ll need to burn at least 20 hours of PTO and the grid would have to be green on all four days. Fast forward a couple years and you can hold a few 1 day trips let’s assume. Now that scenario makes more sense. Hope I didn’t confuse you.

Not sure how true it is, but I have heard similar. Also heard the SQ flying will open too. Makes sense as they made changes to SOPs for the WATRS flying. I think it’s to partially align WATRS with ETOPS.

I have. April, 2020. Put up my whole schedule (lousy overnights), thinking I would be able to lose one or two trips (I had dorked up my bid). They were ALL quickly gobbled up. Literally.
Obviously not the norm.
And, because I didn't credit a minimum of 35 hours for that month, I didn't get that month's PTO and V-PTO allotments.
It was a lean month....

I wouldn't hold your breath. The NATSQ flying is quite a bite more involved then waters, (where the waters and the NATSQ flying are aligned they share a lot the same procedures) the company isn't going to train every CA and FO to do it, far to expensive and unnecessary.

I know almost nothing about bidding at DL, considering, you know, I haven’t even bid yet. I was speaking from direct experience at JB, nothing more.
Carry on.
(Oh, “carry on” is military speak for continue how you previously were. That’s how we speak at Delta, mostly because we are better than everyone else.)

Sounds more like you have a chip on your shoulder. I never said, insinuated, or in any way tried to lead one to believe that.
