However under LOA 8 even if you had a Covid symptom (like a headache), called out and subsequently tested negative that occurrence would be excluded from any dependability review…. One of the subtleties of LOA 8 for those that actually read it, perhaps that could have been extended in perpetuity as it always should have been, perhaps they ALPA asked and the said no…. More likely it was never even entertained.

It was the single thing that helped mitigate the dependability policy. Essentially traded it for UTS. I think the company won on that. Can’t use UTS a whole lot if you’re still subjected to the DP.

Agreed…. Essentially there was no excuse for ANY JB pilot to be hauled in for sick calls under the dependability policy for the past two yrs as long as they read LOA 8 and realized a quick note the the CPs office would absolve them from the dependability policy…. That is gone now, apparently celebrated by some here “clamoring for normalcy”…. It should have been extended in perpetuity as a consequence of the ratification of LOA 17.

If you let it burn, then maybe they'd listen to us. But go get your nickel.

Not sure they’d do that (listen to us). They would just put more of us on reserve to cover the flying. Looking ahead, it seems they’re already looking into that going into June.

Less lines and more reserves covers less flying, not more. Maxing out line values is about all they can do to cover maximum block hours. If there is more reserves for June, it's likely due to the reduction of flights recently announced.

Seems like you're more burnt out about covid covid covid than the LOA, that you'd throw out the baby with the bath water. Whether you wanna feel all nice and normal or not, LOA 8 was a benefit to us even if it was a flu LOA. Something about taking advantage of a bad situation........

Your fight is with covid, not LOA 8.

This is how a feel as well. And once again, we didn't get anything in return for it.

No, we got a 3% raise that will be subtracted from our future CBA retro, and a $3-6k check. Also now we know what massive scumbags our MEC and LEC reps are.
