What's the difference between a vda and rtf? Couldn't really find a clear explanation.

VDA - voluntary day off assignment. You're the last resort. If they call, you don't have to answer. If you do answer, you have to accept the assignment. You'll be paid at 190%. RTF - request to fly. You'll be called before the reserves (I believe, someone correct me if I'm wrong). You don't have to accept the assignment. Pays at straight pay.

Both lead to under staffing, lower wages, and a delayed and below industry average contract. So not much of a difference.

VDA at least allows you to extort additional cash for your efforts. RTF is more like RSA, you're just running in with your hand up asking for the abuse to continue.

Well....so much for being off RSV on the Bus. Back on for Nov. been here more than 2 years.

Not sure what's going on. Higher reserve numbers required?
