Wrong. They MEC under NDA was briefed on both the scope and structure of the NEA prior to passing LOA12. After the secret MEC vote and after the companies publicly announced the deal, LOA12 was revealed to the pilots in mid July of 2020. The union heralded it as a great success — B6 could grow while AA grows. Innumerable web sites explained the deal — B6 domestic feed for AA international flying. Whether it was an oversight or intentional, not all of the necessary scope was formally ceded in LOA12. Thus, half a year later LOA13 was concocted to clean up the mess.

My point is: The company asked the union back in the first half of 2020 to do the NEA. The union agreed to it. B6 & AA officially signed the NEA in July of ‘20. The union knew there were problems in the summer of 2020 but they said nothing and did nothing. Instead they kept it secret from the pilots and buried it for half a year. Good luck asking or realistically expecting an arbitrator to undo a billion-dollar deal a year later. That ship has sailed, and the MEC christened its launch.

isn’t that the whole point of the required NDA? They weren’t allowed to say anything to the pilots.

As interesting as the NEA talk is.....I'm curious how the Pandemic spike will affect the short term schedule. Do you think maybe we'll find some Easter eggs in our schedules with international cities shutting down or not allowing US residents in? Will the company pull down frequencies? Or they'll just ride it out full blast and accept the losses? I think the rebound will be quick but I'd imagine the numbers are cratering for Jan/Feb/March. And before people start in with, "BUT COVID IS NOTHING!!" maybe it is, maybe it isn't. I just know people don't want to get on planes when everyone around them seems to be catching covid.
