All those guys ready to jump ship ready to work for “global airlines” got dealt a dirty hand with this new SA variant. Sure makes things interesting!

Changing jobs inside the travel industry that’s based solely on your seniority number is still a large risk as long as this pandemic continues to linger.

The only thing that concerns me is the blatant CBA violation under this agreement. At best, the arbiter rules in our favor and we take the company to court, which will drag out for years. Feet to the fire, I’d say there’s a much better chance than a snowball in hell that we end up merged, bought, whatever in the next 5-10 years. Pure conjecture though. If it did happen, i have no doubt it won’t be favorable to our group.

Oh, you’re welcome for the laugh though 😉
Recent new hire here who has followed the DOJ case closely but not the scope one. Just wondering if there is any word on when arbitration will conclude with this scope violation? And what outcome is possible with something so flagrantly in violation and that the pilots voted against?

I believe it’s supposed to conclude in the spring with a final answer. The company has no intention to come back to the table on this as of now. I’ve been told it can be tied up in court for years after arbitration, and there’s no guarantee that we’ll get a ruling in our favor. The answer is no one truly knows what will happen. We’ll see I guess.

Spring? Seriously? The union said we should expect conclusion at the end of the year. It would be nice to at least get an update from the union.

The MEC secretly agreed to the NEA in the summer of 2020 — all of it. They signed LOA12 behind closed doors with zero input from line pilots and let the horse out of the barn a year and a half ago. Good luck undoing that now — backtracking on everything that they said to sell the NEA like a used car during the LOA13 vote.
