Yes, because the information you received came sanitized directly from the chairman and his supporters.
Yes, the initial problem was with national, however it was the response(or non response) by our chairman that caused the mass resignation.
“Imagine if you will, you have been targeted for a racist statement, that you never uttered!! Yet everyone from the Alpa staff says you uttered it, but no one from JB heard you say it. The Alpa staff never says anything to anyone while you are there. If you’re that upset and you have a lawyer present during the whole proceedings, which we did, why would you not be a professional and say that you are offended by the statement about wearing masks!! Confront it and fix it so it doesn’t fester. Approximately 2 weeks later you hear that the Alpa staff went vfr direct to Joe Depete and told him they were offended by our committee because we are racist. Your MEC upon hearing this doesn’t come to you to ask what happened of anyone from JB R/I committee who was there? To this day he still hasn’t spoken with anyone but (R&I chairman). But he immediately said it was unacceptable and that he apologized to Depete for our actions, yet he never knew what our actions were?!
I’m done with the secrecy. (R&I chairman) wanted to handle this but this thread shows you how your MEC operates. We are now attacked as though we were in the wrong!! I was there, I didn’t hear anything said that could be construed as racist. No one has ever talked to me about this!! We have 5 pilots who said it never happened and they have 5 staff members who say it did. Yet they didn’t talk about it? What I did see and hear is a staff that wants to do as little work as possible. That our lawyers at Alpa could care less about those who don’t want to take the vaccine.
I don’t think my money spent on dues is returning the value. Alpa brings in around $18 million from JB in dues and they allow us 3-5 million for budgeting. There’s got to be a better way…I’m out!!”
“I got a call from (R&I chairman) on the 30th asking me if I had heard anyone say something like “wearing masks is like a modern day lynching.” Now mind you this is over 2 weeks from our training when I’m being asked. Our training was on the 14th of October and I am hearing about this 16 days later. I would have remembered if anyone would have said something like that. Especially if it was dealing with masks!! Btw we wore our masks walking in the hallways and going to the bathroom but not in our meeting room.
The main issue is that our MEC took Alpa staffs word as gospel and threw us under the bus by apologizing to Depete without even talking to us to hear our side of the story. He kisses the hand of the great Joe and pushes aside the plebes without a thought!! Then he tells (R&I chairman)he never said that he apologized to the great Joe. Until he finally admits that he did. We weren’t going to tell the nitty gritty details but when it was posted as “second hand info” that came directly from CK and their spin machine. That’s how he operates and is the reason why over 3 Committee chairs have resigned. So he accepted our resignation but is now saying we quit. You know the funny thing is our story doesn’t change, because I’m not lying to you. I have nothing to hide.
No one said anything like that in front of me or any other pilot. Yet we couldn’t get anyone to even hear our side of the story. Could you volunteer to work for free with people who treat you like that?”
So tell me again how this isn’t about the our MEC chairman?

Until the mysterious “SH” stands behind those words, they are nothing more than a sour grapes grenade with an agenda. And no, I don’t care that BlueAnnon can vouch for him. That’s about as useful as a note from Epstein’s mother.

yeah that's it. It sounds like ALPA National is the problem. Call it what you want but staying with ALPA sounds like a abusive spouse relationship. Making excuses to stay with them. The weak leadership from The top down caused our whole R&I committee to resign. I wasn't in the room but even my lizard brain can understand what happened.
