JetBlue Latest and Greatest
Can someone explain why, when on SCR the most senior pilot gets the earliest call out in the buckets? Did we bargain for that? You get punished for being senior on short call, by getting the earliest call out, and getting called first.
Its from the old PEA days. It protects the senior pilot from red eye trips.
Last 3 weeks of LCR I’ve been called 20 minutes into my first day and I’m a middle of the pack bidder. Parties over back to bidding a line.
I specifically asked a detailed question about that at the roadshow. the union negotiator for scheduling told me they had to do it one way or the other, and they chose that way randomly. I told him they should have chosen the other way, as it would make senior reserves (which I was at the time) unhappy. he said it was too late to change it, and someone would be unhappy with it either way. I said we should get to vote on it, and he said no way.

David Neelmen has a hole in his heart for jetBlue going back years. Mark my words, the whole Breeze thing is a backdoor way to get his airline back. I absolutely see a merger down the road which gives David a prominent position back at B6. Breeze building out a network on the cheap with A220s is the carrot he will get his baby back with. This will 100 percent happen.
EWR will become a pilot crew base, most likely co-base of JFK. If MIA grows anymore then that is close enough to throw co-base status on it too. Ditto for the satellite airports of LAX, especially BUR and SNA once more A220s are around.

our rsv system is horrendous. Between dropping days, lcr/scr, lack of coverage. I prefer the old rsv system honestly. I got released early almost every stretch of
rsv days I had. I wish we had their rsv system and everyone was lcr and could only get transitioned to scr 7 times a month. Instead of a hard 2 hour call out we had a reasonable time to get to the airport. Not sure why we tried to reinvent the wheel with our contract but they swung for the fences and hit a dribbler back to the pitcher.

Personally I’m quite enjoying our RSV system, especially this past year. The only time CS has put something in JETCRW in over a year it’s been PRL. Haven’t gotten a single call from them.
