I know a couple who came from Cape but they were University Gateway, not Gateway Select.

Pretty sure GWS goes straight from CFI to Indoc.

Ahh, ok. I wasn’t sure the difference. If they came through CapeAir, I have confidence they know what they’re doing as pilots. Clearly they’ve demonstrated that part.

The downside to skipping the regionals would be the inability to make any sort of lateral transition to any other major with no turbine time. If the program goes down the toliet or B6 merges, the experience turns into a $100k price tag to end up at the regionals or a 135 as an only option.

Do you think merging is a possibility this year?

this year? Definitely. It’s also been a very strong possibility every year since 1999.

definitely a possibility. But not likely.

I thought leaving instruction would be the last time I flew with somebody getting their first actual IFR conditions.... nope.

I thought flying at regionals would be the last time I flew with someone where they were getting their first actual IFR hours.... TBD

I don’t blame people for taking the fastest route available to them, I just hope when they get here with so little experience they have an attitude of wanting to learn and being a bit humble.

Like I said... pilots have the memories of goldfish. Already back to worshipping the legacies.
