Almost three years ago. Company had no dependability policy. They went around the pilot value committee we had at the time and stuck it in the FOM instead of negotiating with the committee. They sent it out as an email, then when they were surprised by the pushback about doing it that way, they said "someone accidentally hit send" but they still left it in place.

The actual policy is fine, and having one is fine, the rub was the company had set up this "direct relationship" but then went around it and tried to pretend like they didn't. Most JB pilots don't like when someone ****es on their foot and tells them it's raining. We're fine with the actual ****, just ask first.

Oh, ok. I was worried I missed something new. That was before my time. Thanks for the reply.

If you have flica PBS at JetBlue there should be an option at the top of the pref bid to "add reserve" just put that at the bottom of your bid before "select all remaining pairings". Make sure that all of your preferences above have the days off you want and your reserve bid has those days off you want. Idk how JetBlue does what we call "unstacking" but that usually happens on holiday months and then all bets are off on getting it off. I thought that I had heard JetBlue used flica prefbid, so if this is untrue, disregard all.

We use Navtech for PBS not Flica. We only use flica for post bid award schedules.

I'm starting training soon and trying to understand the mechanics of bidding at JetBlue--are these vacancies filled by new-hires or are they bid into by current pilots? When a two-year seat-lock is up, can a 190 FO bid over to the 320 right away or do you have to wait for the next system bid? Thanks!
