Things are indeed bad, but there are multiple vaccines on the way, lots of pent up travel demand, and JB has a business model that doesn't depend on high fare business travel. So this is likely a temporary problem, which doesn't necessitate a long term concession. I do know a group that leadership showered with hundreds of millions of dollars BC (before COVID), maybe they can ask Wall Street for concessions...

With all that said, I believe JB survives this and thrives. I also appreciate generally that the company hasn't used this as a way to try and scare this group into concessions overall. We'll see what this next AIP is about.

agree........

I’m thinking this has to do with AA codeshare coming up, that’s the only leverage we have. The original codeshare was brokered before the pandemic and signed early on into it. I bet AA is hurting more so now in certain areas than before, maybe the DOT was willing to entertain something more robust with how decimated demand has been. Company comes to us looking for more relief ... we get no furlough protection until a later date, we give prolonged relief on AVL and maybe another small take (Something that will show we are taking cuts as well as other work groups), expanded codeshare helps protect pilot jobs by allowing more aircraft to come out of storage, VIL’s will be tweaked a bit in a more pilot friendly way until Summer flying kicks in, we also get some snap back language if more stimulus comes our way, and to top it off a couple contract gains for the group since they needed this to pass. Oh, and contract gains will mostly when jetblue is in recovery, post pandemic.

I’ve heard whatever is in the works could probably drive Jetblue to profitability real soon again next year.... guess we’ll find out soon.
