Pilots (regional, not major) on the other hand have at minimum 6+ years of undergraduate, flight training, flight instruction, etc. Terrorism is about the best bang for the buck (pun intended); so if you're a terrorist organization aren't you going to flip a member of the FA group that has less to lose than a pilot? Common sense would suggest so, but because we need to be politically correct, we tossed in the FAs into a program originally intended just for CASS participating pilots.
100% Agree!

Sorry for the confusion. That was for an earlier poster. You're right on the money.

Imo, every FA should have a probation period. I've seen FA's finish training, fly the line for 3 months and quit. At least with pilots this isn't normally a issue.

My solution to all this non-sense:

1) All FAs go through pre-check like screening all the time. No KCM whatsoever for them.

2) Psychological screening required for 1st Class medical. Requires new screening every 3 years. You can get second opinion if you fail. After that, you go to OKC for final screening. If fail, can retake in 2 years.

3) No more SIDA badge for FA/Below wing workers. Pre-check like screening.

Unless things have changed since I retired, the aircraft doesn't go without pilots, and it doesn't go without Flight Attendants. Some of you need to get over yourselves. You're all part of the CREW. CRM ring a bell? Anyone?

There's bent pilots and there's bent FA's. Always have been. Always will be.
Actually I have flown many aircraft without flight attendants. Every cargo operator flies without flight attendants.

So yes the aircraft can most certainly go without flight attendants.

One of the original things I read mentioned a flight number 028 from LAX-LGA. AA, not jetBlue has a flt. # 028, which appears to be a redeye from LAX-JFK. It said the crew list would identify the missing FA.

The info now appears to be incorrect, so, apologies.

Two thoughts...
1- The process worked, so why should KCM go away?
2- I thought TSA was established for airport security, not drug seizures. Bowing to them on this one only gives TSA more power. No thanks.
