This is why I don't believe KCM should have been made available to F/As. It has nothing to do with who's better. It's simply a security threat.
Pilots go through a lot more training and scrutiny to be an airline pilot and ultimately we are behind the controls behind a secure door. No need to bring anything to cause harm.
F/As are basically someone with 6 weeks of training and that's it. If I'm a terrorist cell I would get a ton of F/As in the airlines and when the time was right activate them. Think about it. It doesn't take much to become one plus we all know how flawd those background checks can be. That's the only reason I don't think they should use KCM. they pose a higher security threat

Some of you guys sound paranoid AND obnoxious. Dumping on FAs to build up your own ego is a tad over the top. Are there FAs who could have bad intentions? Yes....BUT pilots aren't totally in the clear. I think as fellow crew members we should be very and I mean VERY concerned about other serious holes in the system.
Also, FAs go through the same background check as you guys, so not sure how you think there's some kind of difference. If I want to stir the pot, I can say many regional boys are young and stupid when they go into hock up to tens of thousands of dollars for crappy starting pay at a crap regional and may be ripe for making some extra money to help pay down that debt. I made more money when I started at my regional than FOs did. I venture to say I still make more than double what some guys start at.
Thanks to all the gentlemen who don't buy into the argument that pilots have halos on their heads while FAs are the devil.
