They sure did. I remember talking with MD a 190 captain after we got all those DCA slots and he was like I helped veto a DC base because it would water down the Boston stuff. True maybe but man his personal skills need work. Now the company does what it wants until that CBA is there.

Did a recent class cancel because only a couple of people showed?

No. Last new hire class was last week with 13 new hires.

It would have to water down Boston pairings. Sorry to say but I'm glad he did. Having two bases in the northeast is hard enough for this airline to deal with. Adding a D.C. base doesn't make much sense.

Well there are a few reasons that it does make sense and yes I would think that even if I did not live there. Of course it would water down Boston flying. My point was more about the control the local Boston guys had before we went to ALPA and now have none, also about MD and how it was all about HIM. Just using a story and experience to back up what others have said. I'm not here to debate something that has no chance until we have a CBA and very little chance after that.

That sounds so farfetched given that even the regionals are filling classes with bonuses and flows.

I doubt theyll need to cancel classes here, but you can make more year 1 at a regional now and while that wont make someone choose a regional over B6, the flow already has and will continue to do just that.

Guys who I never thought would go to Piedmont are chasing the flow there over applying to B6. And I see the wisdom in that.

Cba is desperately needed before 2018 or B6 will never catch up.

Pilots that are considering a regional at the same time as jetblue should definitely choose the regional. If you're stupid you're probably tough too so a regional is right up your alley.

Shhhhh let's not bring any real thought to this. It's not like they ever cancel flows or anything.

Fair point, but looking at the number of seats they need to fill in the coming years (both in the RJs and at mainline) can they afford to cancel flows? Nope.
