I would also like to hear the details on this. I saw in another thread you have military heavy time as well as your regional FO experience. We hire guys with your qualifications all the time.

Pilot interviewer, during interview. They were also very inquisitive about me living in a legacy hub.

I've also received a TBNT from F9, just from the application, after visiting them at job fairs and the open house in MCO about a year ago. So I know it's happening.

Figure hiring @ 250/300a year, so 10 years to get to ~6000-6500 pilots.
Thats not accounting for any attrition which so far, has been low. A CBA cant come soon enough.
Actually it's worse than that. Of our hiring only 140/yr or so is for growth.

I don't think it's an "overqualified" issue. They are definitely looking at folks that might be a flight risk, one being as to where you live (JB base vs a legacy base) and military background. I know they got burned by a few Mil guys that bailed right after training.

We will NOT hire 250-300 per year. That is chief pilot/school house propaganda. I've been here almost 6 years, they have been promising big hiring numbers the whole time. I made a spreadsheet 6 years ago with a more conservative number than that and it keeps falling further and further behind the estimates from the spreadsheet.

I no longer trust them.

As of the class that just started on April 5th, 99 have started class since Jan 1, so unless they slow down it's on track for 300.

Not saying it'll happen, but we typically slow during the summer. Then fall classes are large.
FWIW

Summer slow down and attrition. At the end of the year our seniority list will NOT be 300 larger. Seniority list has never grown by the number they advertise in my time here.

And if you've been here more than a few years, the big number they advertise is meaningless when they only net 150-200. That is slow seniority progression.
