Done?
Now complete your apps with the real airlines.
B6 isnt a miserable place, its just evolving and management is hanging on to a dead culture-they just dont know it yet.

I read every single update. Yes strides have been made in negotiations. That is a good thing and a good sign. But a far different thing than "things continue to get better at JetBlue". I'm well aware of what the message of the MEC is. It is certainly not that. In fact it is "management has lost the goodwill of the pilot group due to unilateral changes made to our working rules." being a volunteer does not shield you from criticism. Especially if you seem to be opposite the message of the MEC.

As bunker has said, this is not a valid indicator of progress being made in negotiations. They will tell us when we stop making progress. They have no reason to keep that information from us.

I agree you are more circumspect than Southerner by a large margin, however, you always appear to err on the side of the company- by this I mean you are quick to specifically critique the negativity towards B6 but only brush over the absolute dishonesty of management.
We've spoken and I know how practical you actually are, but your threads sometimes smell very blue especially when you hitch up to South and Hypkid.
In fairness to you, I am not the "burn it down guy" that I sometimes project either
In regards to the problems at the legacies; who efn cares? They have real contracts and B6 does not.
Im working 3-5 days more a month to make what my counterparts in the real airlines do. Oh and Medical/retirement/10hr 3-days etc. bla bla bla.
Be well Payne

I think that's fair.

Thanks for the insight 16.
Now would you agree that staffing is the only incentive for B6 to bring this home?
How much do they save a year with this substandard contract?
That answered, until B6 cant staff airplanes, theyll run a skeleton op with few upgrades.
(-12) reserve grid for April 1st-nice start for the busy season

I agree staffing the airline is priority #1.
There could also be displacement, new aircraft purchase, and even merger/acquisition issues that the company would want a TA in place before proceeding.
The bottom line is, there's absolutely NOTHING this company can do to compete with the Legacies.
Even if we got Delta pay, work rules, retirement, vacation/sick systems, how do you compete with their stability, and even now, the fact upgrade and QOL increases are much, MUCH quicker there than it will ever be here.
JB will need to agree with a Delta-like contract just to stop the hemorrhaging.....I think this can be a destination airline for many, but it will never be for all who end up here.....JB will always be a stepping stone to the big leagues....the question is for the company is, how fast do you want the departures to average year over year.

Right there.
I also agree with the rest.
Only thing that will help jetblue is time. But it's like 10 years away(forever in the aviation world) when Delta retirements start to slow and ours pick up. Other than that the best thing they could do would be to match the Delta cba. That would help but like you said it's hard to compete with them.

After today, Maybe they'll realize they need to change either the reserve system to a sane process or watch the carnage during the Summer. They seem to be too disconnected to realize how much a CBA will help. I just hope its not too late because
many are on the way out already.
