The company has not asked to add negotiating dates.

Sounds to me like you are saying the company asked for some small group breakout sessions within negotiating days already scheduled. Not additional negotiations days added to the calendar to move things along faster.

From 1/13 MEC update
Of equal significance, the Company committed to a more aggressive schedule for the first quarter of this year. In addition to the five bargaining days presently scheduled in February from February 7th-10th & February 28th, the scheduling subgroup will meet for three days from February 13th-15th. In addition, there will now be two more bargaining sessions in March for a total ten bargaining days in that month. March 01st-3rd, March 14th–17th, and March 29th–31st. We will do our best to maximize progress in the newly available negotiating time and hope to close a number of open issues.

That is my understanding, yes. Small breakout groups added in addition to regularly scheduled negotiating sessions, not additional big-group negotiating sessions.

No worries...we're all after the same thing.....it's comments like the ones below a week or so ago from the NC update that gives me a glimmer of hope this thing may not last forever......it still might, but until I have zero hope left, I'll keep my optimism for now.....
"Your Negotiating Committee concluded a full week of bargaining with management today. We resolved issues relating to instructors, had productive discussions on insurance and the remaining scope issues. A number of core issues were resolved in the scheduling section in small group discussions. This is significant as the scheduling section is the largest and most complex section of a CBA."

Now maybe they subsequently asked for small group breakouts, which is not a bad thing.
We all need to carefully guard any optimism. Things almost never go easily in this process. History does not point to anything other than false hope. Maybe this time is different, but don't get your hopes up until it is announced or you are setting yourself up for disappointment.

3. Read my posts. I haven't bloviated on the merits of culture. I've countered the propaganda you guys are spouting. I have no problem discussing the areas that need improvement. I DO have a problem with negativity, particularly when it is written in propaganda format.
Speaking for myself, my posts aren't propaganda. I came here thinking this airline was something completely different than it is. I was guzzling the juice down in Orlando. Then I hit the line. It didn't take long to see the culture is fake, the company uses it to pit workgroups against each other, the work rules and hotels are FAR worse than my regional, and the company does something new on a monthly basis to knock down the pilot group (we've listed this aggressions ad nauseam on this board).
I add my perspective here to give realistic insight to prospective applicants. I won't malign you or suggest you're posting propaganda. I feel you're posting in good faith, but your perspective is shaped by being in the OSC bubble (just as I was for six weeks) and it isn't particularly helpful for guys looking to find out what they're actually getting themselves into. Since you're a company guy I'd think you'd appreciate that since it might prevent some first year attrition when guys come and figure out what this place is actually like?

I'm a little late to the party here, but since Payne mentioned me in the post that sparked this line of discussion..

All this hit me like a ton of bricks when I hit the line. It would have been nice to know going in, so I could have managed my expectations a little bit. Still happy to be here, but anybody looking to make the final jump will be disappointed that they have to keep updating their apps.
One other thing here is, Dispatch, MX and scheduling here are an absolute clown show. Nothing different than my regional, if not worse. I expected a little more knowledge and professionalism, especially from dispatchers. Most of the time it's amateur hour having to dodge error after error with paperwork and MEL's. Honestly, I never had so many paperwork and MX mistakes in almost a decade at the regionals than I have had here in a year. Just something to think about when making a career decision.
