And with much of the attrition coming from the bottom of the list, very few scheduled retirements and a slow aircraft delivery rate, upgrade times will only become longer.

Plan to sit in the right seat for a long time making 30-40% less than your peers (or 75% less than the guy who takes the upgrade in his first year at Delta!) until we get a CBA. #keepsgettingbetter

Less than a year ar Delta!
Most junior 190CA on the last bid has a 4/13 hire date and will retire in 2049.

We are a young group that's for sure. Lots of 30-40something CA's.

This is true. The only people leaving are 1-5 year FO's (a few senior FO's have left). Truth is, attrition isn't a problem. Under 100 people left to take another job last year. That is hardly an exodus. Plan your careers carefully.

Don't think that's possible in aviation.

Also keep in mind we have no retirements, 230 aircraft and only 100 aircraft on order. Unless our orderbook changes drastically, we have ALREADY hired our last captain. The only exception might be a few random permanent E190 plugs in Boston.

Already hired our last captains. Think about that.

Ok while that is true, so you don't yell at me.
I find only 100 airplanes on order to be funny. How many would you like us to order? Think wall st hates us now go order a ton of planes and watch them freak. But yes you are right unless things really change it's going to be a slow upgrade. And as we all know orders can be cut at anytime.

What if we merge with HA and the new Alaska? Frontier? What if we get bought by a legacy? Maybe the upgrade opportunities might improve?

The word "only" was related to how 100 orders compares to an existing fleet size of 230. That's all I meant by that. We probably won't take delivery of more E90s so our deliveries will probably be even worse than it looks on paper.

Oh, and: #keepsgettingbetter
