Because all pax were off, wheelchairs were finished, and normally at that point the inbound crew exits and we thought we could get right in. We didn't know there was a cleaning party in the back.

Training pay is a fixed $2500 (minus tax ) and no per diem correct? And that is how it is till you finish IOE?

Happy New Year. Training pay is $2,000/month. No per diem. $26/day to use at the Lodge instead. That pretty much covered all my meals. Training pay ends after you finish your LOE. You'll get your typical rate once you start IOE. ($53/$54 per hour I think it will be starting tomorrow).

$53.52 tomorrow morning if my math is correct.

The training pay ends the day you complete your LOE. So to be a bit more specific, you will be earning the 75 hour reserve guarantee ($4000/mo) while you sit at home and wait for IOE, not just when you're on it.

Is IOE done in Orlando or your new home base?

In domicile. You'll also get two FAM (familiarization flights) prior to IOE where you sit in the jumpseat and observe.

I believe they try to do it in base but sometimes it's wherever check airmen are available. I've been JFK based my whole time but did OE out of BOS. Obs rides took me to BOS from JFK and then I had a DH back to jfk on the backside.

I concur. I am JFK based and had my IOE done out of JFK as well as MCO(check airman availability). My Observation ride was a JFK-Nantucket round trip.

If you are a commuter and your IOE is done in base, hotels are at your own cost. They can schedule you for back to back 5 days with one day off or multiple trips with no hotel in base, so just be aware of that.
