Get used to it.... this is a weird place! Can't wear any jetblue logo type clothing while drinking or near bar, also no company ID while at bar, even though they want you to wear ID at all times while in the Lodge. They make a big deal about looking professional and paying for your awesome uniform items, but they are the cheapest of the cheapest fabric and materials. You'll eat up your uniform allowance right after a year to order new stuff, and when you do, it will take forever to get...

Are there any other options for uniforms, such as A Cut Above?

Be prepared to tailor your stuff if you have anywhere near a shape that's not potato. I got 17.5" neck, tall tapered... It tapered out. she took 14" of fabric out of the back and it still needs darts.

42L jacket is made for a manatee...

only thing that actually fit was the pants... no pleat.

My VH Aviators constantly lose buttons. In fact, I had one show up missing two on the front of the shirt.

And of course the tailoring is 1/3 to 1/2 the cost of the price of the shirt.

Pants are pretty much true to size. The shirts and jackets are huge in the body IMO. Most people in my class had to get their shirts and jackets tailored.

I'll second that trying to get some uniform pieces take months to get.

the lady told me that the shirt (jb stan herman) was so messed up she'd have to charge me double to fix it.

I went with the VH once they had my size, but still $12/shirt to fix.

For newhires...if they give you the crappy shirts, as soon as you get them call up HPI direct to return them. They will give you a prepaid return shipping label and replace them with VHs with embroidered wings. I only returned a couple of mine unsure how it would work or when I would gett them back. Had them back before I was done in Orlando and had already paid to get my crappy ones tailored unfortunately.
