Last year was profit sharing worth 20.87% of your eligible income, -5% JB cliff = 15.87% which was paid to us.

Under the new formula, we lose one third of the profit sharing pool, so would have been 13.91% minus the 5% JB cliff, so they would have paid us 8.91% vs 15.87%.

A LOSS of 7%. That's using last year's profit. 2017 and beyond could be more or less.

Thank you for the level headed response. I've been here about a year and half and didn't get the full PS last year, so i have nothing to compare.

When I went to Vets in blue they said military pointy nose was about 1000, military other was about 2500-3000 and all civilian types were about 4000 hours. This was just something they said in the morning brief so YMMV. It was also a year ago so who knows.

I went to that same VIB and I thought I remember the slide showing competitive mins being 2k for fighter guys, 3-4k for mil transport, and 5-6k for civ. I don't know of anyone with 1k hours, even in fighters, being competitive here, or anywhere that isn't a regional.

Maybe that was it. Did you get hired from that VIB. Good group and it's very impressive what they put on for Vets.

Affirm. Great event and great people on both sides of the table. Lots of people way more competitive than I, but I got lucky I suppose.

Why do you think what you do is harder than what ASA, now ExpressJet does? The point was they are trainable. I will guarantee what ExpressJet, or almost any regional does,
is harder than what Jetblue does.

I used to believe as you do.
As someone who has worked at both airlines, JetBlue is I suspect like many other majors. The flying is more difficult at JetBlue than ASA. Overwater ops, foreign operations. It is in every way more professional than ASA ever was.
Nowhere as militant however. We could use that right now.

I'll have to respectfully disagree a little with the flying part being harder and I'm not saying it is any easier here. Over waters, we just need to be taught how to do it. International ops, we just need to learn how to read the ABG and the Jepps boundary notes. At ASA flying 7 leg, 14 hr days. Cat II approaches with no auto land or hud. And what seemed like everyday thunderstorms from June-September. I'll take my 5 hour trans cons or my 4 hour Waters HF reporting legs all day long. That may be the argument.
That being said, I would agree and say it is harder to come straight to JetBlue with no 121 time than it would be to go to ASA.

More professional, absolutely!

No one said what they do isn't hard. In most careers entry level jobs are hard with lower pay. JB is not an entry level job, that's my ****ING point!! We shouldn't get paid like a regional, we shouldn't get entry level workers like a regional. Once everyone excepts entry level workers, what's next entry level pay.
