Welcome.

As others have suggested, go to the airplane that will get you a line the fastest. The QOL life difference between senior reserve and junior line holder is night and day.

Gee with medically validated early death, increased cortisol levels, higher propensity for obesity, decreased testosterone levels, metabolic disorder and increased chances of diabetes, irritability, and other issues I wonder why not?

Seriously though, it's not just pilots. Thirty-seven percent of nurses, cops, ATC, factory workers and others that do shift work will also be dead within 5 years of retirement. But at least we get an extra $13 an hour

Your results and mileage may vary. Depending on whether a foot long meatball sub with double cheese and fries sounds like a good idea to you before a six hour red eye transcon. Followed by day drinking of course...

And you may just naturally look like the Crypt Keeper 24/7. But perhaps not. Especially relevant when your 190 classmate sees you for the first time in 6 months and exclaims... You look like $h!t.

Pretty much what they said. No desire to go to the 320. QOL is good on the littler jet.

Is it possible to swap trips with other bases? Say you're BOS 190 and a more attractive JFK 190 trip popped up, is it possible to swap into it? What about trade broads? Are they base only or company wide? Can pilots from different domiciles swap trips?

Thanks

Nope. Only fly trips from your base except RSA or VDA.

That should be addressed in the contract. No reason why I can't fly up to BOS and fly a trip on an aircraft I am qualified to operate.

Actually there are a few-

-It takes away the total number of pilots needed to properly man the BOS base.
-Extends the time on RSV before getting a line for a BOS pilots.
-Takes away a DH trip/pay if they do need to use an out of base pilot.
-Allows the company to continue to run the airline with less manning for less pay.
-Forces you to travel on your own time without pay to BOS in exchange for half the pay.

Jetblue pilots are their own worse enemy.

I agree with all of the above from nyboilermaker. It would be taken advantage of by junior guys in senior bases effectively bypassing seniority. It should absolutely not be allowed.

Why is this in the hiring thread?

I'd also add, that the rest of us aren't qualified to do Deep South trips out of FLL, so picking up FLL trips are out of the question.

I totally agree with the above. However, I can't help but question what was the purpose of adding out-of-base open time to Flica was then?
