So a few quick observations for those considering JB, I've been here about 6 months. Previous I was an 11yr RJ CA.
1. JB is not an on time airline, nor do they claim to be. Almost all of your flights will be late. Some by a little, some by a lot.
2. Scheduling will push you harder than your regional, but will relent if you put up a fight.
3. Everyone really is happy that you at JB and will go out of their way to make that point.
4. Relations between the company and the pilot group are a bit frayed at the moment and IMO the tone of our MEC is very belligerent.
5. Given the trend of the industry, pay is low, especially training pay.
6. I'm happy here and have no apps in elsewhere.
7. I enjoyed my time at the lodge.

I've never had scheduling "push" me.....not once in almost 2 years.
I don't think our MEC is belligerent. I think they just call out mgmt on occasion. Mgmt hasn't had anyone do that before BTW.
Agree on all other points though.

I certainly appreciate all the hard work our MEC has done and the only reason I applied here was because the the outcome of the vote, however, this is not my first airline that is negotiating a TA and when I'm inundated with he said she said emails from the union and the company about an individual who was terminated over 'reliabilty' I think it's wasted energy on both ends .

I agree.
While I see how it can be mildly annoying to have someone ask what may seem a basic question to you is it really necessary to hunt through the FSM when there is a wealth of knowledge on this board?
Yes EVERYONE needs to be familiar with the FSM, but you know after reading a whole page it can be clear as mud. A 5 second response vs 5-10 minutes of searching can be a lifesaver at the end of a long day or when a search is not really that easy.
There are ALSO some gotchas and grey areas those that haven't been here long may not foresee.
I asked a captain question a few weeks ago. He said "that sounds like a good project for this flight....why don't you look it up?" I looked for the answer for about 30-40 minutes and could never find it. Afterwards he told me "you won't find it in there" he finally told me the answer. Was all that really necessary?
If it bothers anyone when someone asks a question, I might suggest scrolling past the post and not paying any attention.
One of the purposes of this forum is to have discussions, ask questions etc. otherwise why are we all here?
Just food for thought.

Apparantly I ****ed someone off, who I guess later deleted their post because I can't see it. Unlike some people, I don't carry my company issued iPad with me wherever I go on my days off, and happened to not be around when I got awarded the hybrid and trading opens tomorrow. Thanks for the guys who came out in my defense. Yes, I guess I could carry the books with me wherever I go, but I choose not to. Thanks again to the guys who threw out some simple easy answers to my not difficult question.

Oh and don't forget to write your rep about their belligerence, I'm sure they'd love to hear your opinion.
Thanks for sharing!
