Hi guys, I'm in the process of getting my cover letter together for JB and wanted to see if someone has a name to address it to. 'People Department' or 'Dear pilot recruitment' sounds so generic.

I've scoured the internet and came up with: *Dean Melonas; 'Vice-President Recruitment'; Verna Kay 'manager of recruitment'; Joanna Geragty 'Executive Vice President and Chief People Officer'. There's also Bonnie Simi 'VP of talent at JBA'.

I don't know how accurate this list is either. Like everyone, I'd just like to make a good first impression.

Thanks.

I think the old "Dear Madam/Sir," works just fine.

I agree. Verna hasn't worked here in years. If you spell somebody's name wrong, you're probably cooked. Keep it simple. I'd say a positional title is good if you're sure you have it right.

Thanks to both of you for your input. I guess you're right.... it's a tight line to walk. Do it well and it looks ok. Do it wrong, and like you said, you're cooked. Much obliged.

Agreed.

I used "Dear Sirs" in mine (yeah, I'm super old school) and got the job.

I would not try to address it to any specific person.

How long is it taking between initial application and receiving an e-mail to proceed through the interview process?

1 week to several years. Hope that narrows it down!

Hey fellas, I have two questions regarding the app:
1. when I filled out mine and clicked the preview I did not see any work history and education, just the first 3-4 pages with my resume. The work and education was saved when I clicked page by page. I have tried it at chrome and IE with the same resulut. Any of you experienced similar thing?

2. After you submit it where is it you upload more documents to your app? Is it the first page "view my account" at the bottom where it says: Documents
Here you may store cover letters, resumes, and supporting documents online for use when you apply to a job.

Thank you and good luck to all.
