While jb may benefit from a tax credit, I don't think that's why they (or Delta, or anyone else) like mil pilots. Mil guys are wired to "complete the mission" and "go above and beyond" for a cause "greater than themselves." Many of them never get the memo that this industry is not a life-nd-death contingency sortie. Management salivates over folks like that.

Wouldn't surprise me if it wasn't actually more. It's not like it would be the first time they low balled an attrition number. They didn't think all those Delta guys were really going to leave, either. I can also tell you most guys I fly with that still have recall rights at AA are pretty much just waiting for the dust to settle on the merger or their clock to run out before heading back.
I'm betting our coverage issues in Jan are more related to under shooting our staffing numbers on system bids than Part 117. I know the trips I got aren't very different from what I've been getting. I just got smacked with a couple extra.

Thanks guys… I'll upload as many letters as I can lay my hands on. Seems strange though, as the old system made a lot more sense, since it had JB employees log into a JB website, independently associate themselves with your application, and write something about you with no way for you (the applicant) to edit or even see what they wrote about you.

Going through the awards, I see that everyone is well over the 80 hour credit. I think this will now be the norm since premium time is but a fond memory.

After I submitted my app, I sent that e-mail out to EVERYONE that I knew at JB. I had over a dozen people write in for me, and probably because is was a non-issue for them to do it.
Even the most well meaning individual might not get a reference out for you if it is too much work. The old system made it easy for the JB employee.

Now that the January bid award is out, did you get anything close to what you have been getting. I didn't, I had weekends off, but not in January, nope I'm working all of them!
