Thats not exactly a fair statement. Every pilots joins a company with the expectations of improvements. You realize what the package is when you are arrive but you always strive to make improvements.

The Jetblue pilot group has it in writing that the company wanted to bring the pilot group up to an industry standard package. This was stated in 2008. Prior to 2008 we were told we our help was needed to grow the company. The pilots agreed. Keep in mind at that point we were receiving 20K profit sharing checks as well. Today we receive a deminimus amount.
If was a different company back then. We had incredible profit sharing checks, CSPP worth a significant amount and options that provided for the shortfalls in pay. The health insurance was also significantly better.

So yes we all knew what we were getting into, as DAL,UAL,FedEx etc pilots but just like them we all are striving for better.

Include these benefits, the FSM and the 5 docs into the PEA.
Provide industry standard language for a T/E and remove the holding company loophole.

For an airline that claims it wants to grow organically protecting the pilot group with merger language cost nothing. The fact they don't speaks volumes.
JB has a great product. And great pilots. I hope they stand together to get the pay and benefits they deserve. In the meantime I fear its just another stepping stone airline... That's why all the junior JB guys in my squadron are all bailing for a major.

I think this is a very fair post, the airline has grown up and must change.
Things now are not the same as 10 years ago and 10 years from now it won't be the same as it is now. I think many guys get worked up with SOME jetBlue pilots making posts like don't even show up to the interview.
It is one thing to educate the new guys and make sure they know about jetBlue, but it is ridiculous to have pilots at jetBlue saying don't come here or quit and go somewhere else all the while they remain in the employment of jetBlue and are not trying to leave.

In the end market forces will work faster than the union (I am a yes vote)
If as many people leave as they say they will, the ELT will have to respond.

I still like it here(not happy with the new pea)
But being an optimist I think jetBlue still has a bright future.

Thanks for a reasonable and balanced post. Having been abused at the regionals for 7 years I am very excited to start at JetBlue and enjoy something better. I realize it's not perfect and improvements are in order and I want to be a part of making the airline a better career choice but I also want to enjoy the new experience.
So it's nice to read a post somewhere between Blue Juice and Burn This place Down! Thanks!

Great post! It's good to see another person on here with a similar perspective.

Min scheduled days off are 13. During slower months they will award 1 or 2 PRLs (Pre-Release days) for bases with extra staffing, which bumps it up to 14 or 15 scheduled days off. Is that what you were looking for?

Are they going to wait for the current window to close before they start calling people in for interviews?

I don't think so. I have heard there is a round of interviews scheduled for Dec 11th (the window closes on the 22nd?)
