When I got hired everyone had tons of heavy PIC time, international experience, furloughed major or cargo. Times have changed. Today pilots with that kind of time aren't leaving their airlines to come to Jetblue. The new norm is the regional pilot, captain or fo, with little international and no heavy time.
These pilots are not bad pilots this is just the new norm.

Today Jetblue withdrew the PEA because it claimed it has considered some valid concerns from pilots about language.
Lets be clear about something. Jetblue has been working on this document for 2 years. It has enlisted the help of a legal firm, outside of in-house counsel, and a marketing firm. The PEA is approximately 36 pages long and the document designed by the marketing firm to convince you to sign is 56 pages long.
At this point we are supposed to believe that in all the work the PVC, PVC legal, SME's and the CBC did on this project neither committee or expert suggested inclusion/exclusion of the language soon to be changed.
Meanwhile, Jetblue will use this opportunity to defend the DR and express its merits as the company does indeed listen to the pilots. Anyone who doesn't believe this was preplanned has a head buried so far in the dirt its coming out in china.
Jetblue put out a document so poor it knew it could get feed back on non-cost items and use the changes to spin the merits of the DR. Well played Jetblue, well played. Today pilots ripped up their interest cards because Jetblue does listen and jetblue does care.

And that is the real issue. I pray that anyone reading this does not show for the interview.

I'm confused my pay raise is 11.6% not 13%...If I sign so with three percent inflation that means 8.6% raise. SO see everyone come to Jetblue enjoy the pay raise, we are hiring mucho, because lots of people leaving, not retiring. Who cares about retirement just means the government will take more of your 401K. Just fly, if you think that your gonna credit 100 every month good luck. FLICA filters will be placed and you get the red DENIED. Its called cost control, now the company knows how much everyone will make for the year. Easy for them. I fly all the time with guys with their calculators out and saying if I fly 90 hours a month and sell 10 to 12 hours PTO I will be at 100. Then your wife wants to go on vacation so you use 24.5 hours or 35 whichever but since you are selling PTO back you dont gain, therefore your pot will dry up. So it seems that the window will open up fo hiring next week. Just remember two year Mickey Mouse contract if you leave you pay. How childish but smart. You need to experience it, still a fun job but the ELT always gets us in the end game.
