Default Question on which airframe for Boston

Hello all - JetBlue Boston area poolie looking for thoughts on IF I get a choice of airframe which one would you choose with the following in mind…..

Biggest thing is I’d like to minimize time spent in hotel rooms. I’m good with working more days in a month, more legs, odd hours, etc. but being in base (i.e. home) at the end of flying when possible if that makes any sense? Lastly, maximizing $$$ is not a primary motivating factor for me (heresy!).

Just retired from the military so lacking on how things work. Greatly appreciate anything you can offer.

BOS E190 would be the best fit for what you're looking for. Good luck!

Just to follow up on FlyBy's take ... On the A320 side, BOS right out of training has been few and far between this year, but it has happened. I wanted a BOS320 but took the JFK320. As a reference, I started training in March and the soonest I could get to Boston was September. I had my first JFK Move Up line in August and could likely hold a line here on out at JFK. But I bet I'll be on reserve in Boston into next year. Not complaining tho... I'm thrilled to moving to BOS.

Good luck at JB - I bet you'll like it here ... and congrats on retirement, from a fellow recent retiree.

"Thank You!" for the inputs, appreciate it. Good to know about the 320 timeline getting to Boston as well, I was kind of wondering about that. Excited to get started….

I am attempting to add recommendation letters to my application. Does the system send out an email after applying with a link on it for internal recommendations? If it doesn't then I'll include them in the actual application. Also, any word on when the window closes? Thanks so much for the help!

Upload letters of rec to the 'supporting documents' section. I don't think the window will be open for much longer, but you can modify your profile section (and add letters of rec) after it closes.

As I recall from applying last time around - no email is sent out regarding internal recommendations. You just upload your letters (in word, PDF, etc.) to the JetBlue application site. When you interview you bring hard copies with.

Not sure about the window closure but I think the norm is just after OBAP finishes. Good luck!

Thanks so much. I have asked for a couple of recommendation letters and was worried that if I didn't include them in my original application the system wouldn't let me update and add the new ones I get within a week. I guess I'll just submit the application with the ones I have and hope the system lets me add the new ones after the window closes. Thanks again!

There is a way to upload them to your PROFILE, but after you submit, you can not add them to your APPLICATION. At Vets in Blue I asked the VP of talent if rec letters uploaded after I hit submit would be viewed along with my resume and she said they would. I was in the room when the exact same question was asked 4 months later at WAI, and her answer was "No, but they are attached to your profile, so they'll already be uploaded when the next hiring window opens."

I'd definitely recommend attaching them to you app before you submit if at all possible.
