Following up on that thought, at present, how long do you think it would take to get reserve out of FLL for a new hire? I know this fluctuates however, I am just trying to get a general idea as I live just over an hour away from FLL. Thanks.

And throw in numbers for MCO as well, please.

Depends on if you're a "Any line is better than reserve" guy. Just under 3 years on the A320 in MCO, and I got a line for July because I forgot to bid. I'd rather have sat reserve. 71 hour credit with 13 days off. My line for August on reserve is 75 credit with 14 days off thanks to PRLs.

Now, I was able to tweak it to 14 days off and 81 hours of credit thanks to the magic of FLiCA and a couple of PTO days, but I won't be forgetting to bid again. The best trip of the month was a cushy 3 day, but that was because it was over Fourth of July weekend. I've gotten intimately familiar with Puerto Rico at night and day sleeping in JFK this month.

For a decent line on the A320 in MCO, you're probably looking at 5 years seniority. Depends on how many senior guys bid reserve. It's normally quite a few in Sept/Oct.

On the 190, I COULD have held a line at around the 2 year mark. It, again, would likely have been either less or about the same credit as reserve. So, you're flying a LOT to make the same credit you would be flying 2-3 times a month. But, I know some guys don't like the leash or living in Tampa where one wreck on I-4 can turn your 2 hour drive into 2 1/2 or 3.

Most of my calls lately have been "Your show is in less than 2 hours," to which I've gotten the 2 hours and short term parking on every one so far.

I hit the line in April. May, June, July on reserve. In August I got a move up line. It's a crappy min days off 76 hours, over half of the flying is red eye flying. But as a commuter, it'll mean more time at home. Whether or not it'll last past August or back on reserve remains to be seen, obviously.

Thanks Kell. I'd also be interested in knowing what the DOH of the plug in MCO is.

IF I ever got hired, and IF I'd ever move back to FL I'd probably be up in the DAB area where I grew up. I figure between the 417 or the Beeline that's doable for a 2 hour reserve callout.

In any event, I've got family near BOS as well so living there isn't an issue either.

Just about when you will be able to hold a line in JFK will be the time you can go RSV in FLL, so around six months.

No more one year bonus to people hired in 2015, sorry.
I don't know how is that possible tough, since every pilot should have the same compensation.

Default Why would FOs "jump ship" here?

I know there is attrition everywhere, just curious why you all think some Blue guys jump for United or Delta? -from what I hear, quality of life at United (besides having a lot of long call reserve) is not so great - pay at Delta is great though.
What are your thoughts on this?

Pay rates, retirement, health insurance are the top ones. Base choices are also a bonus for those who live in a UA/DL/AA hub, but are stuck commuting here at JB. Lots are drawn to the huge retirement numbers forecasted for those carriers as well.
