I was at the Staybridge as a new hire. That sucked. Badly. I had a car, but I would've much preferred to walk 200 yards to the sim. The rooms were moldy, and smelled kinda musty all the time. It was loud in the hallway with kids. I wish we had the lodge 3 years ago.
Whatever, everyone has an opinion, but most new hires I talk to seem to like the facility.

Most new hires like the facility because they just don't know better. It's not a knock on them, they just don't know. They also don't know how well we used to be treated with dinner at Sonny's, family coming for orientation and/or any time they wanted, and the freedom to relax outside of the BlueJuice OSC environment.
I stayed at the Residence Inn and it was the best training experience of any of the several airlines I've worked for.

You are absolutely right, everyone has an opinion. Mine is that the Lodge sucks for long term training.

I'm glad recent newhires are enjoying their lodge experience, in the meantime I'm lighting candles that my transition training hotel will not be there. FWIW the company had informally told ALPA that no transition or upgrade events will be housed at the Lodge..

Get on a windows computer with Internet explorer. Log into crew trac. Go to options and view schedule and pick the month. A calendar will come up with the pairings. Right click and view the pairing. On the far right will be the tails for every leg. You can also right click a leg and view the flight crew. keep in mind they delete crew trac after a few months. So right now I can only see as far back as February. As others have said its better to get one of those little crew logs and get times off the oooi (out/off/on/in) page right after you park. Plus then you can actually remember landings/imc/crew/approaches, etc. The oooi page drops off after 5 minutes so get in the habit of doing it right away. On the emb anyway.

Oh WOW...
You spend dinner time at graveyard?
Like I said in my post
I was only trading to understand
since I never ate at the lodge
But your answer explains it all
Welcome on board:
You ex Skywest guy, hired 05-13-15
from the West Coast
You surely embrace the B6 culture (ironic)
Thank God I won't have to fly with you

He deserved what you gave him! As he gave you a childish immature response to a reasonable question... No apologies necessary, feel free to PM me with info about JB although I stayed at Staybridge for training..

I stayed there too
Not the best hotel ever but
as I said I had a car so
the ride to the AM sim was no problem
plenty of dining options walking distance
Now my "non-PM" to you:
When are we getting a CBA?

Anyone know of any crashpads with openings near JFK? (Would actually prefer to rent a room.) Also, can someone explain when a reserve would be subject to long call vs short call. From what I gather, it's 99% short call- could one do short call with a 2 hour drive w/o traffic, how does parking reimbursement work? Also, what is the current estimate for resv in JFK and any pointers for IOE? Thanks a million!
