I didn't do interview prep, but frankly, I should have. After seeing several friends who felt prepared be unsuccessful, I always recommend everyone to suck it up and do everything they can to prepare. I'm not sure why someone wouldn't spend $400 to give them a leg up on a job they really want. Of course, if you really don't want it that's another thing altogether. Just don't complain about how you got screwed if you don't do everything you can to prepare.

Yep, it's true. But that's not uncommon at the major airline level. Delta, American and others do the same. At least here there is a path to the line for them, unlike the instructors for Delta for instance.

On my fleet there are only 1 or two guys who aren't on the seniority list now. I'm not sure about the bus.

If your not naturally confident in your experience or personality, it may help. But for any interview, and especially for Jetblue, why go in there propped up with false confidence and canned answers? If you're there, the resume speaks volumes, so just be yourself. It's worked for the majority of guys here at blue.
No argument here South- just a different interview philosophy.

I haven't taken an interview prep personally, but my friend who did learned a lot, and there weren't canned answers. They had him come up with his own answers, and helped him to shape them into the format that JB wants to hear. They gave him strategies for how to present himself, etc.

There are a million ways to skin a cat. To those interviewing, good luck with whatever you choose.

I did Emerald Coast, and it certainly wasn't canned answers. It was going through your resume and experience and finding things to answer the questions. If you're spitting out canned answers, everyone in the room knows it. What ECC did for me was take the things that were actually in my background and tweak my answers to make them sound better. They didn't say "Answer this to this question." Plus, it was a big confidence builder for me personally knowing that I had an answer for just about any question they could throw at me. If it were canned answers, it would have taken a LOT less than 6 hours for the prep.

Just a heads up Tom a Hawk, this site's mods and Jetblue do not want you posting info about flight loads publicly. Just shoot a PM.

Pay the $400 for Emerald Coast. If nothing else, you'll be relieved of your interview jitters, and feel more confident walking in the room....that alone is worth it.
Money back guarantee if you don't make it to phase II, and you can use them again at one of the big 3(if you ever choose that route) in the future.
You won't regret it. On the other hand, if you don't do a professional prep course, you'll kick yourself in the arse if you bomb the interview. This is your chosen career, not just a job, pay up.

Correct me if Im wrong, but their site says...

"Refund applies to candidates who do not successfully move past Phase II."

Does that means that if I don't pass phase 2 they return the money?

Yes, that is correct. They also honor the credit if you do get invited back a second time - and will coach you for free. Emerald Coast is the real deal. They are pilots helping pilots.

I have not interviewed yet, but I did the Emerald Coast interview prep in anticipation of a future interview. Worth every penny. Nothing canned. Just taught me how to talk about me.
