jetBlue Hiring
What has been their level of experience and in which areas (91/135/121) ? Did it matter what kind of equipment they flew ?
I ask because after feeding my obsession with JB I've begun to think I should hang up that idea for a few years (while I finish my degree)
I'm 4200TT mostly PIC, 1000TPIC (turboprop), md80 at the moment, A.S degree mostly 135/91 experience and currently in 121; and was told by someone in the know that 8800hrs, four year degree, "modern" equipment (Glass) is what they are set on for now...and I don't stand a chance without the last two.
Makes me think w-t-f they are all over the place. I also know a guy without a degree who got hired, no TPIC and mostly regional experience.
So what's the deal with JB? After the sun n fun fair, which I opted to skip because of conflicting schedules and an email stating they were NOT reviewing apps or resumes but "pilot positions" were on the list; and then speaking to a buddy who went and did get to do all three with a recruiter I'm just at my wit's end here...
Love you guys but seriously....
BTW; I am very aware of the level of experience of pilots applying at any airline being high..just a little frustrated...and I'm sure I'm not alone.

Most I know are newly upgraded RJ CA's. 500 TPIC or less. I'm about to cross the 4,000 TT mark and upgrading this summer, so hopefully I can get a chance sometime in the future.

Thanks for the info and encouragement!
Does anyone think flying this so-called outdated md80 is going to be a problem? Never gone regional due to pay and I doubt I ever will put myself/family through that at my age but I've started reading up on them lately...
About the job fairs; very true...trying to balance the budget and pick which ones to attend is getting hairy!
Thanks dudes

As a former Allegiant pilot, I say run away from there. Run as fast as you can.

You should have gone to Sun n Fun. I went and now I have an interview next month.
Normal guy, 5000tt, no Tpic, 4yr degree, regional FO. It doesn't matter if stated that they where not accepting resume, you bring your resume!!!!! Study for it like for the interview.
I carried 9 resume, 3 for B6, 3 for frontier and 3 generic (used one for southwest). Try to go to the next job fair if you can...I couldn't believe when I opened my email this week that I was getting set up for and interview! This was my first and the only job fair.
Be proactive and happy, you will get the opportunity. I went with the perception that I maybe was going to be called for Frontier, since B6 only will hire about 150-200 more guys this year. I ended up getting a JBlue interview, which always it's being my first choice for a career. I can't be more happy!
